Centerpiece FAQ's

While you're not able to select the exact vessel yourself, rest assured: our expert floral designers will make that choice with great care. Each vessel is hand-picked to complement your size and styling selections, while also factoring in any info you may provide on your reception table styles, the overall design vibe, and your budget.
Our vessel options include:

Clear Glass Vases
—Typically chosen for our Dainty or Classic sizes and will fit any style—budget friendly without sacrificing elegance or composition
Metal or Ceramic Footed Compotes
—Typically chosen for our Signature or Statement sizes and modern styling options for a more elaborate and curated look
Plastic Centerpiece Trays
—Not visible beneath the flowers, typically chosen for sweetheart table designs and elevated centerpieces
Ceramic Pots
—Typically chosen for our Classic and Signature sizes and modern styling options
You're more than welcome to leave a note during checkout if you have a specific preference—perhaps you love the look of a clear glass vase, or you're drawn to a footed compote. While we can't guarantee your first choice, we always welcome your input and will do our best to align your vision with the design.

Ultimately, we want your centerpieces to feel effortless, intentional, and beautifully curated—right down to the container that holds them.
No, at this time we do not offer rental options with our à la carte wedding collection.
If your dream tablescapes won't be complete without romantic candlelight, novelty chargers, or other whimsical accents, you (and/or your coordinator) will be responsible for sourcing, styling, and placing those accents on the day of your event. Our team is responsible only for creating your floral pieces (and delivering them if you choose that option).
However, we can provide loose stems of greenery and/or petite bud vases with theme blooms to be styled with your centerpieces if you're going for a complete curated floral look for each table—again, you or your coordinator would be responsible for styling and placement. These options are available to order on the à la carte collection page.
Yes!

Flower availability varies by season, but we can cater to any style or color preference. If, for example, you simply cannot picture yourself getting married without sunflowers - or dahlias - or peonies, we encourage you to leave your bloom requests in the special instructions section at checkout! That said, please keep in mind, requests are not guaranteed—but we always do our very best to accommodate any special instruction or bloom choices.
If you do have specific and/or special bloom requirements, we understand completely. For a more custom tailored experience, we recommend setting up a consultation with one of our design experts via our custom full-service wedding form. Our à La Carte collection is geared towards style and color harmony, rather than specific floral varieties.
The number of centerpieces you'll need depends on how many guest tables you'll have—we recommend nailing down your total headcount before ordering your centerpieces.
Another factor to consider is what other tables or areas you'll have during your event—think: bar accents, guest book table, sweetheart or head table, etc. You could opt for additional centerpieces for these areas when applicable, although we recommend ordering these pieces in their traditional styles separately. You can find alternate listings for these specific pieces on the à la carte collection page.
In the events industry, post-event cleanup is called a "strike."
This entails our team returning to the venue to take away any remaining flower arrangements, or remove flowers from a structure or installation.
Currently we only offer event strikes in our full-service wedding packages.
We charge a flat fee of $1,000 for this service and scheduling is based on first-come-first-served availability.
If you're going the à la carte route, we recommend planning ahead to gift your remaining floral pieces to friends or family at the end of your event—or taking them home to enjoy yourself!

Let the Magic Begin

Customizing your tablescapes and dream reception vision should feel like one of the best parts of wedding planning, not a chore on your checklist!

Below, we’ll walk you through each step of the process—from choosing the perfect centerpiece vibe to picking the palette of your dreams—so you can feel confident, excited, and inspired every step of the way.

Step 1.
Choose Your Centerpiece Size

When curating tablescapes, centerpiece sizing is more than just inches and stem counts—it’s about atmosphere, scale, and how each bloom brings the space to life. Each size in our collection is designed as a low centerpiece, encouraging effortless conversation and unobstructed views.

Keep in mind, table shapes and sizes play an important role in choosing the right centerpiece—

Round tables: a single centerpiece proportionate to the table diameter helps anchor the setting beautifully. Smaller rounds (36-48") shine with a Dainty or Classic size, while larger rounds (60-72") feel more balanced with a Signature or Statement piece at their center.
Elongated tablescapes: often call for multiple pieces spaced down the table—our Classic or Signature pieces work well in pairs or trios, while a bold Statement piece can stand alone.

Our visual guide breaks down our signature sizing—so you can confidently choose the pieces that fit your bridal vision best.

Step 2.
Choose Your Centerpiece Styling

The shape of your centerpieces set the tone—whether you dream of a romantic garden soirée or a modern minimalist celebration. Each styling option creates its own atmosphere, capturing the heart of your vision and echoing your overall décor.

We recommend choosing a shape that best complements your personality and the vibe you're envisioning—from organic flow and whimsical movement, to polished structural elegance—we want your reception florals to match your vision and aesthetic.
Use our styling guide to help you envision the centerpiece shape best suited for your aesthetic and reception—
No matter the style, each piece will be thoughtfully designed by our team to reflect your unique love story. Your only job? Pick the vibe! We’ll take care of the rest.

Step 3.
Choose Your Color Palette

Your wedding day color story is arguably the most important (and most fun) part of the process! Select one of our signature palette options curated by our expert design team, or opt for a *custom palette that ties in your dress, venue setting, and overall aesthetic.
We recommend selecting your centerpiece palette based on your ceremony floral palette, dress and/or suit colors, venue style and setting, and reception linen colorsto ensure your day ties together seamlessly from start to finish.
*Because customization requires a bit more labor (and love) behind the scenes—from sourcing blooms in specific tones on an expedited timeline, to extra thoughtful design planning—our custom palette pricing is inflated to reflect the additional magic required to create the florals for your event.

Step 4.
Sit Back & Trust the Process

Don't stress—you're in EXCELLENT hands! Our expert design team takes pride in curating showstopping floral moments to enhance your big day, while paying special attention to quality, color, and overall flow.
We'll reach out with any questions or concerns, but if you don't hear from us it's safe to assume your bridal vision is in the works and will be ready to deliver or pickup on your selected date.
For uniform reception centerpieces, simply up the quantity before adding to your cart.
For additional centerpieces and table accents (think: guest book table, bar accents, etc.) needed for your big day, simply repeat the process and build a new centerpiece order.

Is this DIY? Do you offer DIY flowers or packages?

No, our Weddings à la Carte collection is not DIY—but we do offer DIY flowers through our sister company, Metro Flower Market! If you're planning to DIY your wedding but want a professional touch on the bouquets or personals, you're in the right place!
Our DIY packages are available at metroflowermarket.com and allow for a similar timeline of planning.

Do you offer payment plans for wedding flowers?

We do not offer payment plans at this time. All wedding florals must be prepaid.

When should I order my wedding flowers?

As soon as you've selected a date and venue for your wedding, it's time to start thinking about your flowers!
Ideally, we recommend planning and ordering your flowers 5+ months out, but we understand everyone's timelines are different! Our à la carte collection was designed for anyone and everyone—whether your wedding day is a year away, or right around the corner. The only conditions you'll find here at Twinbrook Weddings à la Carte are:
Custom Color Palettes
We require at least 2 weeks for this option in the case we'd need to source blooms we may not have in stock the week of your wedding.
Same-Day Weddings
At this time we do not offer same-day wedding flowers. If you're getting married TODAY and haven't ordered flowers yet, you may have to tie the knot without blooms.

Can I have my wedding flowers delivered?

Of course!
However, while we offer free local delivery on an everyday basis, we do charge a fee for wedding deliveries. These special deliveries are conducted by our wedding team, ensuring your flowers are handled with the utmost care and attention.

Can you deliver in a specific time window?

Yes, as long as the window is 3+ hours minimum (3pm-6pm for example). Please be sure you or the alternate contact person listed on your wedding order are present at the delivery location for the entirety of the delivery window requested.
If you'd like your items delivered within a window, we kindly ask you place your order at least 7 days prior to your event to allow for proper coordination between our design and delivery teams.

Does "delivery" mean someone will set up my flowers at the venue?

No, our driver will deliver your floral items to the address listed on the order. Please be sure to include any specific delivery location information/requirements during the checkout process.
The majority of items on our à la carte menu require minimal set up. If you'll have an extra pair of hands available on the day of your event, you'll be in good shape! The most elaborate installation item listed in the collection is structure décor—each of these pieces include preloaded zip-ties to lock onto virtually any structure.

After my event, do you come back to clean up/remove the arrangements?

In the events industry, post-event cleanup is called a "strike."
This entails our team returning to the venue to take away any remaining flower arrangements, or remove flowers from an installed floral arch, wedding aisle, etc.
Currently we only offer event strikes in our full-service wedding packages, and the charge is a flat fee of $1,000. If you're going the à la carte route, we recommend gifting your remaining florals to friends or family at the end of your event or taking them home to enjoy yourself!

Can I request specific bloom varieties?

Flower availability varies by season, but we can cater to any style or color preference. If, for example, you simply cannot picture yourself getting married without sunflowers - or dahlias - or peonies, we encourage you to leave your bloom requests in the special instructions section at checkout! Please keep in mind, requests are not guaranteed—we'll do our very best to accommodate any special instruction or bloom inquiries.
If you do have specific special bloom requirements, we understand!
For a more custom tailored experience, we recommend setting up a consultation with one of our design experts. Our à la Carte collection is geared towards style and color harmony, rather than specific floral varieties.

Which flowers are only available seasonally?

Everyone has a favorite flower—from peonies to dahlias, we get all kinds of hopeful requests at every time of year. Of course, many blooms are only seasonally available. The below information is based on the growing season here in Virginia, as well as our typical availability of blooms sourced from farms around the world.

Can I request flowers not shown in the seasonally available list above?

Absolutely!
Just be aware we do not guarantee requests—things like orchids, tropical blooms, and novelty flowers tend to be more fragile (and expensive), so please keep that in mind when choosing your bouquet or arrangement size/pricepoint.
With that said, we run a large operation here at Twinbrook—our cooler is well stocked on a weekly basis, meaning many requests are unproblematic!

What à la carte floral elements are completely customizable?

This collection falls under the designer’s choice format, meaning full customization is not an option.
While you're able to choose the size, shape, and palette of your wedding florals—bloom and greenery varieties will be left up to our design team (never fear—we're experts in our field and we're excellent at what we do!) using the freshest appropriate stems available in the week of your wedding.
Your arrangements will be hand-crafted in your selected shape, size, and palette by our team. We'll pick each component for your wedding order in the week leading up to your event date—utilizing the freshest (and most gorgeous) floral varieties to bring your vision to life.
We encourage you to list bloom requests in the special instructions section at checkout. While we always do our best to honor these requests, specific floral varieties can not be guaranteed. Each piece is designed based on seasonal availability, and the beautiful blooms we have in our cooler.

My wedding is on Sunday, but I want my flowers on Friday—will they hold up okay?

We strongly advise getting your flowers, whether you're picking up or having them delivered, on the day of your event. Floral pieces without a water source (wearable accents like corsages especially) will only last if they are kept in a cool environment, like a fridge or cooled garage.
Your arrangements will likely hold up fine for 24-48 hours, though we like to err on the side of caution when it comes to a special event—like your wedding! Your flowers are safest in our cooler until it's time to tie the knot.
In the case same-day is not an option (if you're travelling out of our local area with them, for example), we recommend pickup or delivery as close as possible to your event day/time.

Can I order structure florals to be added to my own arch or an arch set in place at the venue?

Absolutely!
We'll design your structure florals in whatever shape and style you choose, with zip-ties included in the arrangements for easy installation. Simply place the pieces on the structure, loop the ties around the poles, and pull to lock in place. Once the event is over, you'll just need to cut the zip-ties and remove the arrangements—have a pair of scissors on-hand!
Additionally, our team may require some additional information to ensure your florals are properly designed to compliment the shape and dimensions of the arch you'll be using. If at all possible, please send a photo and measurements to weddings@twinbrookfloraldesign.com for our team to assess.
Please be advised—our team will not install any floral pieces upon delivery at the event. On-site installations fall under the umbrella of our full-service wedding packages.
