At our Chantilly studio we shift the whole palette in September. The greens deepen, the whites disappear, and everything moves toward rust, plum, amber, and burgundy. Here is what actually makes a fall arrangement work.
Rustic and Jewel Tone Are Two Different Moods
People say fall flowers and mean two completely different things, and it is worth knowing which one you want before you order.
Rustic is warm, textured, and a little wild. Think dried elements, seed heads, loose asymmetric shapes, and colors pulled straight off a forest floor. Our Rustic Chic collection lives here.
Jewel tone is the opposite instinct. Saturated plum, garnet, deep teal, and gold, arranged tightly and deliberately. It reads formal and a little dramatic, and it is what you want for a dinner party rather than a kitchen island. That is our Jewel Tones collection.
Texture Is Doing More Work Than Color
Here is the thing about the fall palette: everything sits in the same warm tonal range. Rust, amber, bronze, burgundy. When all your colors are close together, the eye needs something else to hold onto, and that something is texture.
A matte seed pod beside a glossy petal. A rough branch cutting across a smooth rose. That contrast is what separates an autumn arrangement that looks designed from one that just looks orange. Crimson & Cream is a good study in it.
